Managing locked terms
Some words should never be translated: a brand name, a product type, or a fixed term from your trade. In Settings > Communication you set which terms always stay exactly as written.
How to add a locked term
- 1Go to Settings > Communication and scroll to "Locked terms".
- 2Type the term exactly as it should stay, for example a product name or brand name.
- 3Choose the language you typed the term in: that's where it will be recognised.
- 4Optionally add a note, for example what the term stands for.
- 5Click "Add term"; the term appears in the table right away.
- 6To stop locking a term, click "Delete" next to that row.
What happens if I add the same term twice in the same language?
You can't: TELMAAR reports that the term already exists in that language. To change it, delete the existing row first and add the new version.
Does a locked term also work for unknown terminology the translation doesn't recognise?
No, those are two different things. Unknown terminology is flagged in the translation panel so you can check it; only a term you lock here is guaranteed to stay unchanged.
