Inviting a member of staff
You invite a member of staff by email and give them a role straight away. That role decides what they may see and change, and it applies to the company you are working in at that moment.
What you need
- The Owner role. Only the owner sees the invitation form.
- The name and email address of the member of staff.
- The right company active at the top, because the role applies per company.
How to do it
- 1Check at the top which company is active and switch if you need to.
- 2Go to Settings and then to Users & roles.
- 3Under Invite user, fill in the name and the email address.
- 4Pick a role from the list.
- 5Click Invite. The member of staff gets an email with a link to finish setting up their account.
- 6If you want to change something later, pick a different role in the table next to the right company, or pick No access to withdraw access.
Does somebody work for more than one company?
Invite them once, and then give them a role per company in the table. Somebody can be Bookkeeper at one company and only look on at another.
As soon as you change a role, all active sessions of that member of staff are ended. They log in again afterwards and work with the new permissions straight away.
Not working?
- You cannot see the Invite user block at all.
- You are not an owner of this company. Ask the owner to send the invitation, or to give you the Owner role.
- The member of staff has been invited, but after logging in sees nothing of the books you meant them for.
- The role has been hung on the wrong company. Switch at the top to the right company and give them a role there in the table after all.
