Service contracts with bundles, renewal and SLA
A service contract is only restful when it does not need your attention every year. In TelMaar it renews itself, the included hours are right on the invoice and an urgent case for a contract customer gets priority.
Bundles and the zero line
A contract contains a bundle: included hours and material. When invoicing, these come off the invoice with a zero line that shows what fell under the contract. Hours above the bundle go along as normal invoice lines at the right rate. The customer sees what they got, you see what you may still charge.
How to record a contract
- 1Open the contact and go to Contracts.
- 2Create a new contract with term, price and the bundle of hours and material.
- 3Turn on automatic renewal and choose the SLA (response time).
- 4Plan the maintenance visits; they appear well before the date.
What the SLA does
- A job for a contract customer entitled to fast help goes to the top of the list.
- The response time is shown on the job, so the planner sees how much time there is.
- When the response time passes, the job gets the marker SLA expired.
