Getting the work order signed by the customer

The work order is the screen for out on the road. You put your photos and your hours on it, and at the end you have the customer sign. The name and the time are recorded with it automatically.

The work order screen

Open the job and click Work order. At the top is what you need when you arrive: the address as a link to your map app and the phone number as a dial button, so you do not have to type anything over in the van.

Below that are the buttons I'm on my way, I've started and Job finished, the timer, the photos, your hours and the lines for materials and costs. The signature is at the bottom, because it comes at the end.

How to get it signed

  1. 1Work down the work order from top to bottom: are the hours right and are the materials used on there?
  2. 2Take or pick your photos under Photos, so that the customer can see later what was done.
  3. 3Scroll to Customer signature.
  4. 4Fill in who is signing, for example Mrs De Vries.
  5. 5Let the customer sign in the box with a finger. Did not go well? Click Clear and try again.
  6. 6Click Save signature. You then see Signed by and the date.

Handy to know

  • Photos and signatures are kept in protected storage. The screen fetches them with a link that expires by itself after an hour.
  • If something is wrong after all, click Sign again. The old signature is replaced.
  • It works the same way in the mobile app. There you can also add a note for the customer.

Not working?

You get the message that there is no connection to the server.
The signature is sent straight away when you save, and that needs a signal. Signing and filling in can carry on, but only save once you have a signal again. If need be, step outside for a moment or turn on mobile data, and then click save again.
The Save signature button does nothing.
Something is missing. Fill in the name of the person signing, and check that the box really has been signed in. With an empty box or an empty name you get a message about it just above the button.
